The forest is dying.
We chose to save it.
Centuries-old chestnut groves bent by disease, neglect and the total abandonment of the land. Giacomo and Giulio Maltagliati decided to roll up their sleeves.
A heritage vanishing in silence.
Forest abandonment is not only an aesthetic loss. It is an open wound in the heart of our biodiversity. Without care, the chestnut grove succumbs to parasites, the soil weakens and millennia of rural culture are erased by the dust of time.
«Every chestnut tree that falls is a chapter of our story we will never read again.»— Nonno Nanne

Fratelli Maltagliati
Those who chose to return.
Giacomo and Giulio are not just farmers. They are survivors of a frantic world they chose to trade for the slowness of the seasonal cycles.
Armed with brushcutters, patience and a visceral love for their land, they began to wrestle the family's historic chestnut groves from the suffocating embrace of brambles. Every chestnut that today falls onto cleared ground is a victory against oblivion.
